Welcome to the official site of Alice Pung. Alice is an award-winning writer, journalist and essayist. She is one of Sydney Morning Herald's Young Novelists of the Year 2015, and the Artist in Residence at Janet Clarke Hall, the University of Melbourne.


Alice's latest book, Laurinda, was launched by John Marsden on 22 October 2014 and is out now!

Alice's children's books Meet Marly from the Our Australian Girl series is out this year in 2015.

Alice has been shortlisted as Sydney Morning Herald's Young Novelist of the Year 2015.




Alice's writing has been featured in The Monthly Magazine, Good Weekend, The Age, The Australian, Griffith Review, Meanjin, and The Lifted Brow. She has also had work published in the Best Australian Stories and the Best Australian Essays, and book anthologies. Alice's writing can be accessed here.

Alice’s books are studied in secondary schools and universities in Australia as well as around the world. She has lectured at universities and schools all around Australia and overseas, and taught writing workshops to students from the ages of 8 to 80.
